Circuit Court Fee Schedule

The Circuit Clerk is authorized by statute to collect various fees, fines and costs. All collections are deposited into the county treasury for subsequent disbursement to the appropriate county or state agency or, as in the case of bonds or restitution, disbursed directly to the appropriate individual.

General Fees

Note: Even though an expungement petition in cases in which a defendant is found not guilty or charges are dismissed (not in exchange for guilty plea) is considered a civil petition, filing fees are not collected (WV Code 61-11-25 (g); Section 11.6) In contrast, a filing fee is collected in expungement petitions when a person was found guilty of a misdemeanor but he or she was between the ages of 18 through 26 or if a person received a pardon.
