The case of Mamie Thurman

On June 22, 1932 the body of Mamie Thurman was found by a young local boy in a blackberry patch on Trace Mountain which is know today as 22 Mountain. Clarence Stephenson stood trial for Mamie's murder on Nov 10, 1932 and was later found guilty.
